TOD Concept Project will Be Realized in Ex-land of Blora Market

The ex-land of Blora Market on Jalan Blora, Menteng Urban Village, Menteng Sub-district, Central Jakarta will be arranged using the concept of Transit Oriented Development (TOD).

Jakarta Deputy Governor, Sandiaga Uno expressed a groundbreaking of TOD in Dukuh Atas area is targeted to be realized by the end of this month.

"We've got a report of PT MRT Jakarta. So we're ready to do groundbreaking by the end of this month," he stated, Tuesday (1/16). 

City Requested to Concern About Two Things Regarding TOD Expansion

According to him, coordination between SKPD and related party is continuously strengthened to smoothen groundbreaking and development projects.

"This project could make new jobs at least 2,000-3,000 jobs," he expressed.

As the first stage, he added, the Plaza Transit will be developed on the ex-land of Blora Market, pedestrianization on Jalan Kendal and Jalan Tanjung Karang, and arrangement of Taman Dukuh Atas.

"Pedestrianization is very important for pedestrians and commuters. We will prepare connections between MRT, LRT, Train, Railink and Transjakarta," he uttered.

In the meantime, PT MRT Jakarta President Director, William P Sabandar added, prior to groundbreaking, sterilization will be done on the ex-land of Blora Market, arrangement of independent small traders (PKM) on Jalan Kendal, as well as coordination with BUMN Ministry related to several BUMNs in TOD development project. 

"We will also request for contract approval for the addition of work space for MRTJ CP 106 contractor for pedestrian work," he uttered.
