City Continues to Monitor Flood Handling

Jakarta Provincial Government keeps monitoring the progress of the floods and extreme weather conditions in the capital. It is done to determine the steps of anticipation and handling during and after the flood.

Up to February 7-16, we routinely meet the monitoring about flooding

City Secretary, Saefullah disclosed, every morning, his party routinely does a monitoring meeting along with related dept. to discuss the needs of the flood victims in the refugee camps and those who have returned home.

"Up to February 7-16, we routinely meet the monitoring about flooding. We're committed to help all the needs of the flood victims," he expressed, Wednesday (2/7).

Dinkes Provides 120 Ambulances for Flood Victims

He added, the Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) predicts extreme weather will occur up to February 16. Therefore, the city keeps monitoring the possibility of flood disaster.

Until now, the city continues to make efforts to dredge the mud and build sheet pile in order to smoothen water flow from the Katulampa Sluice Gate.

"So far the sheet pile construction has almost touched 50 percent and will be finished soon," he said.
