West Jakarta Administration Closes 4 Illegal Dumpsites

For over five years, the residents living in RW 03, 04, 06, and 09, Semanan Urban Village, Kalideres Sub-District, West Jakarta, were disturbed by the foul odor coming from four illegal dumpsites (TPS) around their settlements. Now, they can smell fresh air because those dumpsites have been closed by West Jakarta Administration.

Before closing the illegal dumpsites, the trashes were cleaned and picked up by the janitors. Afterwards, the dumpsites were fenced to prevent residents from throwing trash to the locations again.

“All this time, the trashes were never picked up by the janitors until it mounting and spreading foul odor which really disturbing the residents. The locals are very supporting the closing of those dumpsites,” stated Head of Semanan Urban Village, Abdul Karim Yunus, Thursday (7/10).
