8,700 Coupons Prepared in North Jakarta Ramadan Fair

In order to meet its residents’ needs, North Jakarta Administration is going to hold Ramadan Fair on upcoming 14-18 July in the yard of North Jakarta Mayor Office. As many as 8,700 staples coupons will be distributed to underprivileged residents. Later, they can buy cooking oil for Rp 9,000 per liter, which official price is Rp 14,000. In addition, there are also 1,000 staples packages worth Rp 40,000 per package that consists of rice, cooking oil, sugar, and flour.

Besides those tree urban villages, the Ramadan Fair coupons will also be distributed to residents living around North Jakarta Mayor Office, civil servants rank I and II, cleanliness officers, security officers, parking attendants, mosque caretakers, and technicians.

Meanwhile, Head of North Jakarta Husbandry, Fishery, and Maritime (P2K) Sub-Department, Sri Hayati, told that in the fair, her department prepares 3,350 kilograms of beef and 1,400 kilograms of chicken meat.
In addition, North Jakarta P2K Sub-Department also gives subsidy as much as Rp 30,000 for each beef coupon, so residents can buy beef for Rp 55,000 per kilogram (normal price Rp 85,000). As for chicken meat, the subsidy given is Rp 15,000 from normal price Rp 40,000 per kilogram. Thus, residents with coupons only need to pay for Rp 25,000 to get one kilogram of chicken meat.
“(North Jakarta) P2K Sub-Department only sells beef and chicken meats that are in accordance to the standards set, namely safe, healthy, whole and halal (ASUH). So, residents do not need to worry because the meats have met medical standards guaranteed by the government,” she stated.
