Ramadan, Monas Crowded by Visitors

In the moment of the fasting month this year, the National Monument (Monas) in Central Jakarta remains crowded by Jakarta residents and outside Jakarta. Since at the end of June until now, the amount of visitors is reaching 28,398 people where it increased than the period of late May until June 8 which reached 15,753 people.

The increase in the amount of visitors during Ramadan is due to coincide with the school holidays. Thus, a lot of people flocked to the Monas

"The increase in the amount of visitors during Ramadan is due to coincide with the school holidays. Thus, a lot of people flocked to the Monas," said Head of Monas' Management Unit (UP), Rini Haryani, Friday (7/11).

Free Entrance, Ancol Thronged by Visitors

Rini details along May 29 until June 8 2014, the Monas visitor is only 15,753 people, while 28,398 people in June 29 until July 8. "Majority of visitor is from Jakarta, Bandung, and Bogor," she explained.

She continued, Monas operational will open at 9 AM-2 PM and 8 AM-3 PM on regular days. "Monas operational is much shorter during Ramadan. We only open at 9 AM-2 PM," he expressed.

Rini also asserted ticket price is still the same as usual. In details, museum ticket price is sold at Rp 2,000 for children, Rp 3,000 for student, and Rp 5,000 for adult. "Ticket to go to the top of the Monas is about Rp 2,000 for children, Rp 5,000 for student, and Rp 10,000 for adult," he told.

He added that in 2014, she targets retribution from ticket bought by visitors to reach Rp 5 billion. "Until this June, we receive retribution amounted to Rp 3,141,930,750 from 538,702 visitors," she finished.
