The high demand for transportation among Jakarta residents and its surrounding areas, making PT KAI Jabodetabek bought 176 new units of commuter line train type 205 from the East Japan Railway Company. From 176 units, 32 out of them have arrived due to gradual shipment.

Those trains are an initial stage in the train procurement this year

Communication Manager of PT KAI Jabodetabek Company, Eva Chairunisa disclosed as the initial stage, as many as 32 units have already arrived at the Pasoso Station, Tanjung Priok Port, North Jakarta, Friday (7/11) evening. "Those trains are an initial stage in the train procurement this year," he stated, Saturday (7/12).

He added that if there is no problem on ships transport, 30 units can be done in each shipment. By so, the shipment up to four stages can be expedited.

According to her, the trains type 205 are different with type 205 where the formation is less than before. "The difference is in formation, train type 205 has 10 carriages compared to previous train only has 8 carriages," she added.

Chairunisa furthered, the trains were planned to be sent to the Yasa Manggarai Hall for assembly. Today or Saturday (7/12), 12 out of them have been sent and 20 others are still at the Pasoso Station, North Jakarta, and will be sent at 2 PM.
