Kota Tua's Kali Besar must Be Complete Before Asian Games

Jakarta Deputy Governor, Sandiaga Uno hoped that the Kali Besar revitalization in the Kota Tua area, West Jakarta could be complete prior to 2018 Asian Games.

It must be completed, as the Kali Besar is the icon of Kota Tua

"It must be completed, as the Kali Besar is the icon of Kota Tua," he stated, after discussion meeting about Kota Tua revitalization, Wednesday (3/14).

It is the second phase out of three phases conducted by Jakarta Provincial Government. The first phase is to manage traffic and relocate PKL towards coaching location (lokbin), Jalan Cengkeh. Then third is to bring back the spirit and philosophy of Mota Tua.

"It is still ongoing now, as there are already discussions and studies with West Jakarta Administration, SKPD, Kota Tua consortium and revitalization consultant," he told.

For short-term revitalization, he wants SKPD to soon repair pedestrian roads, beautify parks around Kota Tua area and add streetlight.

"Asian Games just leaves 153 days. So SKPD must do revitalization soon for the short- and mid-term," he said.
