ERP System Tested Out Today

Today or Tuesday (7/15), Jakarta Provincial Government officially tests out the system of the Electronic Road Pricing (ERP). The system is implemented along Jalan Jenderal Sudirman, precisely in front of the Panin Building, by involving 50 four-wheeled vehicles. 

When the vehicle has reached duration about 1-2 hours passing the gate will not be charged. I think we will set 1 hours

Head of Jakarta Transportation Department, M Akbar disclosed the On Board Unit (OBU) will be installed gradually toward 50 vehicles. Those vehicles are owned by internal companies from Sweden and PT Kapsch. Afterwards, it would be implemented on Jakarta Transportation Department vehicles, vehicles that pass on Jalan Sudirman, Tanah Abang, Central Jakarta.

Such test is hoped able to know the ERP's gate detector, as well as the paired device in the vehicle whether it can work well or not. "It's actually been done three days ago through vehicles owned by PT Kapsch, and would be continued by PT Kapsch in a week and then official vehicles," he stated, Tuesday (7/15).

ERP to Be Tested on July 15

The ERP gate already installed in the slow lane of Jalan Sudirman by the Swedish company, namely PT Kapsch. It has a width of 14 meters and 7 meters height has been equipped with three sophisticated machines. Nevertheless, the vehicles can pass the lane. "Trial is conducted for come in between hardware and software at the ERP gate," he expressed.

As for the initial stage, there is only one ERP gate on the slow lane of Jalan Jenderal Sudirman. As planned, 40 gates would be installed along such lane and vice versa. While for Jalan Rasuna Said, Kuningan until Ragunan, it will be realized in the upcoming September.

He added the ERP tariff for four-wheeled vehicles reaches Rp 30,000. The same policy will also imposed to officials and central government's official cars. "When the vehicle has reached duration about 1-2 hours passing the gate will not be charged. I think we will set 1 hours," he finished.
