Betawi Cultural Art Festival Held at Taman Bambu Cipayung

East Jakarta Tourism and Culture Sub-dept. holds Betawi Cultural Art Festival at Taman Bambu, Setu, Cipayung. It is enlivened with various Betawi cultural arts.

Together, let us preserving Betawi cultural arts and uphold local wisdom

Those are gambang kromong, bodoran/lenong, pencak silat (martial arts), tanjidor, fashion show. Then, Betawi dances such as sirih kuning, ondel-ondel, selamat datang and other dances.

East Jakarta Tourism and Culture Sub-dept. Head, Iwan Hendry Wardana expressed his gratitude for all Cipayung Sub-district residents who always maintain solidarity and harmony. They are cooperative thus every event can run well.

"We appreciate Cipayung residents because they always maintain solidarity and harmony. Together, let us preserving Betawi cultural arts and uphold local wisdom," he conveyed in his welcoming speech, Sunday (4/29).

According to him, this event can preserve nation's cultural heritage since it is performed many cultural arts.

Cipayung Sub-district Head, Mutmainah added, her neighbor is a multicultural society, but they have strong relationship. Residents, public figures, and religion figures can cooperate well and help each other. Including in this Betawi cultural art festival.

"This event is enliven by several art studios in Cipayung. It can help us to find out children's potential and educate them. This is needed to be done thus children will always love their own cultures," he explained.

Committee also prepared cheap bazaar booths to enliven this festival. They used conical tent for tenants who are mostly sell foods, beverages, clothes, handcrafts, and others.
