35 Points on TransJakarta Bus Lanes Damaged

As many as 35 points on TransJakarta bus lanes in East Jakarta are damaged and slowing down bus’ speed due to potholes and wavy roads. The damages can be found on Jalan Otista Raya, Jalan Mayjen Sutoyo, Jalan Raya Bogor, Jalan DI Panjaitan, Jalan Perintis Kemerdekaan, Jalan Ahmad Yani, Jalan Jatinegara Barat, and Jalan Bekasi Timur.

We’re having trouble to repair the damages due to erratic weather that hinders the work in the field. That’s why from 35 points, only one which has been repaired

“We’re having trouble to repair the damages due to erratic weather that hinders the work in the field. That’s why from 35 points, only one which has been repaired, namely in corridor V (Kampung Melayu-Ancol). The rest will be repaired after Eid ul Fitr,” stated Head of Roads and Bridges Maintenance Section for East Jakarta Road Public Works Sub-Department, Arif Faizal, Sunday (7/20).

Besides erratic weather, Faizal told that the asphalt mixing plan (AMP) can no longer be ordered in D-4 Eid. This is because the factory is already closed by that time and the workers have gone for homecoming. In addition, heavy vehicles are prohibited to pass on toll roads to prevent traffic congestion during homecoming season.

Jakarta Inundated, Basuki Questioned Public Works Dept's Performance

To anticipate AMP shortage, East Jakarta Road Public Works Sub-Department has prepared stock of cold mix (cold asphalt). This cold mix is substitute for hot mix in emergency handling of covering potholes.

“During Eid ul Fitr, we will also have to go on patrol to monitor the condition of the roads. There will be picket officers. If there were potholes, they will be patched using the cold mix,” he uttered.
