14,997 Liquor Bottles in Monas Destroyed

Jakarta Provincial Government has destroyed liquor bottles that are seized from five cities and district, in Monas area, Central Jakarta.

We do this as a warning and to minimize crime action in Jakarta

It is done to anticipate crime action due to liquor, especially in Ramadan.

"Bylaw enforcement has become the city's obligation to control those who break thw rules," expressed Anies Baswedan, Jakarta Governor, before destroying liquor in Monas area, Sunday (6/10).

According to him, role of residents is needed to monitor liquor circulation. Neverthless it must be done in accordance the rules, but not independently.

"We do this as a warning and to minimize crime action in Jakarta," he asserted.

In the meantime, Jakarta Satpol PP Head, Yani Wahyu stated this action can minimize liquor circulation in Jakarta and protect peoplw from the death.

There are 14,997 liquor bottles destroyed. They are 6,000 bottles from West Jakarta, 2,796 bottles from South Jakarta, 3,000 bottles from East Jakarta, 2,377 bottles from North Jakarta, and 824 bottles from Central Jakarta. 

"These bottles were seized from five cities last January-May, 2018," he stated.
