Jokowi Returns to City Hall as Jakarta Governor

Jakarta Governor Joko ‘Jokowi’ Widodo is back working in City Hall, Wednesday (7/23), after taking leave for 1.5 month due to running as presidential candidate. He arrived at City Hall around 8 AM on a black Kijang Innova B 1124 BH and police escort, and welcomed by Head of Gubernatorial Affairs and International Cooperation Bureau, Heru Budi Hartono.

When asked by the reporters about his schedule and whether he still remember city’s problems or not, Jokowi only laughed.

“Hahaha, what? Yes, there are still many (problems to be taken care of). I want to handle administration first in my office and probably go to Jakarta Parliament (DPRD) plenary meeting,” he answered.

Jokowi then held a closed meeting with Vice Jakarta Governor Basuki T Purnama. After the meeting finished, Basuki disclosed that they were discussing about several city’s problems.

“We talked about transportation, about railways, including monorail. We also discussed about Jakarta Provincial Government’s plan to add bus fleets. Later if there were enough buses, I want to stop fuel (BBM) subsidy in Jakarta,” he uttered.
