Tak Tepat Waktu, Basuki Putus PT JM

Basuki to Cut Cooperation with PT JM

Post presidential election yesterday, Wednesday (7/9), General Election Commission (KPU) is currently counting the total votes collected by both president candidates, who one of them is non-active Jakarta Governor Joko ‘Jokowi’ Widodo. If Jokowi announced as the chosen president, Acting Jakarta Governor Basuki T Purnama will automatically step up to Jokowi’s position.

(If PT JM) cannot show me the (monorail’s) construction design and money, I will cut (the cooperation with) them

One of the first steps to be done by Basuki if he became Jakarta Governor is cutting cooperation with PT Jakarta Monorail (JM). With that, monorail project would be stopped.

“Monorail would definitely be cut,” he stated at City Hall, Thursday (7/10).

PT Jakarta Monorail Given Extended Time

Even so, Basuki admitted that he is still waiting until September for PT JM to explain its monorail construction design, business design, and proof that PT JM has the money to build the rail-based mass transportation. If not, there will be no more toleration given by Jakarta Provincial Government.

According to Basuki, he has given enough toleration to PT JM to finish all the documents so monorail project could continue. As a matter of fact, the company has been given several times extra time since 2013. But this time, September is the last time given to PT JM to determine the project’s continuation.

“(If PT JM) cannot show me the (monorail’s) construction design and money, I will cut (the cooperation with) them,” he asserted.

Basuki disclosed that this plan has been informed to Jokowi. Although there would be no monorail, he asks the citizens not to worry because monorail would be replaced with Light Rail Transit (LRT).

“Mr. Jokowi has been told. It (monorail) would be replaced with LRT,” he said.
