We want to help the Kopaja and APTB management at several sides, like use of Transjakarta bus lanes. Hence, they must raise tariff from Rp 2,000 to Rp 6,000 but they must have the doors to drop off passengers and become feeder without paying fee to us
Acting Jakarta Governor, Basuki 'Ahok' T Purnama instructed the management of PT Koperasi Angkutan Jakarta (Kopaja) and Border Transportation Integrated with Transjakarta (APTB) to impose the payment mechanism.
He disclosed although the bus tariff is more expensive, yet it aims to simplify the passenger.
Air-Conditioned Metromini Not Yet Integrated with Transjakarta Bus Lanes"They (passengers) can buy ticket in the bus. We want to help the Kopaja and APTB management at several sides, like use of Transjakarta bus lanes. Hence, they must raise tariff from Rp 2,000 to Rp 6,000 but they must have the doors to drop off passengers and become feeder without paying fee to us," he said at City Hall, Tuesday (7/22).
According to Basuki, Transjakarta also has assisted to sell the Kopaja bus ticket. It did not run smoothly because of many Kopaja bus drivers haphazardly pick up and drop off passengers on the Transjakarta bus lanes. Thus, it made him disappointed.
"I told you, I don't want to revoke all (ticket), because there is also a bank credit, thus I revoke one by one and no longer ticket sales, so you just able to drop off passengers and use the Transjakarta lane," he exclaimed.
If the Kopaja integrated with Transjakarta, he furthered, but there is still violation, he will revoke its operational permit. It aims to give deterrent effect.
"If the passenger complain, don't ride the bus. We will also add double-decker fleet, and will involve the Integrated City Transjakarta (BKTB) to become a feeder using integrated ticket with Transjakarta. I think, this is the best solution," he expressed.
He added, his party also instructs other buses which have ticket system to use a monthly ticket system, thus the bus will be paid per kilometer. By so, there will no longer buses pick up and drop off passenger haphazardly.
