Connecting Channels in Matraman Cleaned

A number of connecting channels in Matraman area, East Jakarta are cleaned. Besides mud, the channel is also strewn by garbage.

This is a routine maintenance program to make the channel work normally again

Matraman Sub-disrtrict Water Resoures Executing Unit Head, Meta Pradoningrum stated, cleaning has been ongoing since early this week and is targeted to be completed in two weeks ahead. The main target is the channel at Jalan Pramuka Raya, Jalan Kayumanis Raya, and Jalan Matraman Raya.

"This is a routine maintenance program to make the channel work normally again," he stated, Friday (7/13). 

The length of cleaned channels is varied. Jalan Pramuka Raya for instance, cleaning is done up to 100 meters length, Jalan Kayumanis Raya up to 100 meters and Jalan Matraman Raya up to 70 meters.

If it is finished, similar action would be continued to Palmeriam Urban Village. Besides channel, mud and garbage are also cleaned from under the Kali Utan Kayu Bridge, Jalan Utan Kayu Raya.

"Approaching Asian Games, all channels along protocol and alternative streets will be cleaned. By so inundation can be avoided when it rains," he said.
