Connecting Channel on Jalan Raya Cacing will Be Normalized Soon

The connecting channel of Jalan Raya Cakung Cilincing (Cacing), Cakung Barat, Cakung East Jakarta will be normalized soon. The socialization will be done this week to the owners of building standing on the channel.

Besides Jalan Raya Cacing, it would also normalize inundation in the citizen residential in RW 07, 08 and 10 Cakung Barat

East Jakarta Water Resources Sub-dept. Head, Mustajab stated the channel condition is now narrowing, siltation and there are many illegal buildings on it.

"Tomorrow we'll do an internal meeting with related units and will be continued with socialization on the day after tomorrow. Normalization must be executed to prevent inundation on Jalan Raya Cacing," he stated, Tuesday (7/3).

Three Connecting Channels in C. Jakarta Normalized

According to him, the channel has 3.6 kilometers length, starting from Jalan Raya Bekasi until border of Cilincing, North Jakarta. But this year his side would only normalize up to 2.1 kilometers.

The current width of the channel is around 1.5-2 meters with 2 meters depth. If it is normalized, its width would have 3.5 meters with 3 meters depth. The left and right will be covered with a wall of sheet pile with 50 centimeters width. Thus the total width of channel will be four meters.

"Besides Jalan Raya Cacing, it would also normalize inundation in the citizen residential in RW 07, 08 and 10 Cakung Barat," he stated.
