Hundreds of Thousands of People Crowding Ancol

Eid ul Fitr 1435 Hijri holiday really is utilized by people to visit recreational sites, which one of them is Ancol, North Jakarta. In this place, more than 100 thousands of people were crowding the area on Wednesday (7/30).

“I, my wife, and children intentionally came to Ancol to have vacation. We always come here in almost every Eid holiday,” uttered Santoso (38), one of Ancol visitors who lives at RT 03/10, Cijantung Urban Village, Pasar Rebo Sub-District, East Jakarta.

“I deliberately come here with my big family,” told Ikin (43), another visitor from Bandung.

Free Entrance, Ancol Thronged by Visitors

To anticipate traffic congestion at exit gates, Ancol Public Relations Manager, Metty Yan Harahap, informed that tens of extra exit gates are opened. Normally there were 26 gates, but his party added 39 more gates, thus in total there are 65 exit gates.

“We’re targeting one million visitors in this Eid holiday. We’re optimistic the target can be achieved,” he said.
