49 candidates will undergo city council member election from September 26-October 4. They are representatives from eight sub-districts in West Jakarta.

West Jakarta Governance Division Head, M. Riadi stated, it is supposed to be 56 candidates in total that can undergo this election because each urban villages can nominate one candidate. But until the end of registration period, only 49 urban villages in eight sub-districts that nominate candidates for council member election.

"These 49 candidates are representatives from eight sub-districts who have been registered to participate in city council member election," he said, Tuesday (9/25).

In order to be city council, each candidates should get support from 25 residents at urban village level.

He admitted, seven urban villages in West Jakarta have run out of time to register for city council election.

"Because no one proposed to be a candidate while they ran out of time to register," he mentioned .
