West Jakarta Maritime Agriculture and Food Tenacity (KPKP) Sub-dept. holds food inspection routinely in 20 traditional markets and modern markets. Thousands of food samples have been examined in laboratory.

"We inspect foods from agriculture, livestock, and fishery commodities which are sold in 20 traditional markets and four supermarkets," mentioned Marsawitri Gumay, West Jakarta KPKP Sub-dept. Head, Wednesday (10/3).
S. Jakarta KPKP Holds Food Inspection in Five MarketsAccording to her, this food inspection is done from January to September 2018 by taken 6,121 samples from agriculture, livestock, fishery, and processed food commodities.
"Food inspection team will take 8,450 food samples in 20 traditional markets and four supermarkets until the end of 2018," she added.
Food inspection is done to ensure food sold in traditional and modern markets are free from hazardous substances such as formalin, borax, rhodamine B, methylen yellow, and pesticide residues.
"We are grateful because until now, food inspection team didn't find any food contains of hazardous substances sold in traditional and modern markets," she said.
