Environment Dept. to Lower Garbage Revenue Target Next Year

Jakarta Environment Dept. is about to lower the garbage revenue target in 2019. It was stated in a discussion and deepening meetings on the next year's draft budget priorities and preliminary thresholds (KUA PPAS).

Environment Dept. Head, Isnawa Adji disclosed that his party has coordinated with BPRD related with garbage revenue target next year. From the beginning, it was targeted at Rp 30.6 billion, down at 3.11 percent to Rp 30.2 billion.

"Based on our analysis, such as PD Pasar Jaya, private party makes garbage processing at the source. Thus its garbage revenue will automatically decrease," he expressed, at City Council building, Monday (10/15).

Currently the garbage revenue this year up to September has hit Rp 35.7 billion from the target set at Rp 30.6 billion or 116,74 percent.

In the meantime, DPRD's Commission C Secretary, James Arifin Sianipar hoped that it could involve council members. "I am more concerned with supervision in order to avoid leaks," he stated.
