E. Jakarta Sudinhub Installs Traffic Signs in Odd-Even Areas"Its evaluation results show we need longer data. It because what we get was only data on the number of public transport users that were indeed increasing and then the acceleration of vehicle travel time decreased. This is what we see," he stated, at Senayan, Tuesday (10/16).
His party will coordinate with Transportation Dept. to find out more complete data, especially related to the effect of even-odd system on the economy of the citizens and the behavior of motorists.
"Moreover this system is not extended throughout the day, four hours in the morning and afternoon," he added.
Jakarta Transportation Dept. Acting Head, Sigit Wijatmoko explained that it is listed in a long-term plan as outlined in Bylaw No. 1/2012 on detailed regional spatial planning.
"There is a location for developing mass public transport, but there are also locations where traffic restraint or traffic control is applied," he explained.
In 2018 RPJMD, the average speed in 41 main corridors is 21 km per hour with a 'share' mode to public transport as much as 20 percent. In 2030, he continued, the average speed on the road is 35 km per hour with a 60 percent share mode to the public transport.
"This is a business that must be done strictly, its evaluation must be periodic. So we also conduct an evaluation," he exclaimed.
The main purpose of this even-odd system is to change the mindset and behavior of citizens in using public transportation.
"The concept is push and pull. Push is like how do we suppress the use of private vehicles and pull how we make an interest in maintaining confidence, the motivation of the people, to keep using public transportation," he said.
