A truck B 9909 FDA carrying iron plates weighing two tons is capsized on Wiyoto Wiyono Toll, KM 03.400, Kebon Nanas Urban Village, Jatinegara Sub-District, East Jakarta, at 1 PM, Wednesday (8/6). There is no casualty reported in this incident. However the traffic from Cawang towards Tanjung Priok is snaking up to three kilometers long.

Based on the information gathered, the truck was on the way to Tanjung Priok when suddenly its rear left tire was broken and instantly detached from the axle then rolled over until it hit the road separator concrete. As a result, the truck becomes capsized and its front side is severely damaged after hitting road separator. Fortunately, the truck driver only suffers injuries on his head and arms.

Maman (50), the truck driver, told he was heading to Sunter, North Jakarta, to deliver iron plates. He did not see this coming because the truck was always checked routinely.

“I did not expect the truck’s tire would detach from its axle,” he said.

Meanwhile, City Police PJR 2 Chief AKP Sigit stated that the truck was allegedly speeding on fast lane because it ends up capsized and hit road separator. Now, the truck has been towed to East Jakarta Traffic Unit Headquarter.

“The toll road was quiet when the accident happened. If the traffic was dense, it would create a series of accidents,” he uttered.
