Container Truck Capsized on Jagorawi Toll, Traffic Congested 10 Kilometers Long

A container truck B 9856 UEL capsized on Jagorawi Toll Road, KM 10, Ciracas, East Jakarta, Thursday (7/17), around 1.30 PM. There is no casualty in this accident, but the truck driver suffers minor injuries. Severe traffic congestion is unavoidable for 10 kilometers long on the lane from Jakarta towards Bogor.

Based on the information gathered, before the accident happened, the truck was running on second lane and about to enter slow lane. But at the same time, a minibus, which identity still unknown, suddenly overtook the truck’s lane from roadside. To avoid collision, the truck driver instantly hit the brake. Unfortunately, he could not control the 80-ton-weighed truck until it finally capsized with wheels on top.

The truck was also slipped for 10 meters away and hit road separators. As a result, its front side is severely damaged and the driver suffers injuries. By Jasa Marga officers, the truck driver whose identity is still unknown was rushed to the nearest hospital.

“The driver could not control the truck until it capsized and hit road separator iron bars. The truck’s front side is severely damaged and the driver is injured,” stated one of Jasa Marga officers, Eko Purwanto.

The officers actually had tried to evacuate the truck using crane. Unfortunately, their efforts were useless because the 50-ton-weighed crane was not able to lift the container truck.
