Danau Sunter Bridge Unrepaired, Motorists Protest

The motorists passing the Danau Sunter Bridge on the north and south sides of Jalan Danau Sunter Utara, Tanjung Priok, North Jakarta, are expressing their protest. They demand related unit to immediately repair the bridge that was collapsed four months ago, precisely at the end of last April.

"Locals were immediately covering the bridge with zinc when the bridge collapsed. Until now, there is no repair from related unit," explained Narto, a motorcycle-driver on Jalan Danau Sunter, Saturday (8/9).
He explained that the roads covered by zinc already started to sinkhole, in which its iron bridge buffer has declined and almost touching the water surface. It happens because many motorists pass through the road.
Head of North Jakarta Road Public Works Sub-Department, Moand Ritonga mentions repair plan is currently still being auctioned. The auction filed on May 7 should obeyed the new program of the Goods and Services Procurement Unit (ULP), thus its process takes a long.
"We have to obey the rules thus the auction process takes a long," he explained.
His sub-department promised would immediately repair the bridge after auction is done. "Don't worry we will repair the bridge soon," he finished.
