According to Tri Prasetyo Utomo, Head of Kemanggisan Urban Village, those flower pots are an effort of his side to eliminate street vendors at the same site. In addition, he hopes locals also contribute in maintaining the pots in a bid to create Kemanggisan area comfortable.
Before being raided, the roads were crowded by tens of street vendors selling food, drinks, and fruits, causing traffic congestion. This is because they often threw waste into sewer.
