Dukcapil Dept. Issues 266,488 KIAs

Our target is to issue 300 thousand KIAs this year

Jakarta Population and Civil Registration (Dukcapil) Dept. has issued 266,488 Children Identity Cards (KIA)s from 2016 until November 27, 2018.

Jakarta Dukcapil Dept.'s Population Section Head, Sapto Wibowo mentioned, Dukcapil Dept. has issued 926 KIAs in 2016; 22,523 KIAs in 2017; and 243,039 KIAs from January to November, 27, 2018.

East Jakarta Issues 13,200 KIAs

"Our target is to issue 300 thousand KIAs this year and 500 thousand KIAs next year," he conveyed, Thursday (11/29).

He explained, purposes in owning KIA are to enhance civil registration, protection, and public services for children. It also can be functioned as a valid ID card that can be used to access public service as requirement document for transaction or administrative necessity, used as document fulfillment for accessing education service, immigration, health service, and others that gives benefit to children.

"We have collected data from 2.6 children in Jakarta. We will continue to issue KIAs through our services and programs gradually," he stated.

According to him, Dukcapil Dept. has 3-in-1 Population Service Integration System (Si Dukun 3-in-1) program that has been launched by Jakarta Governor, Anies Baswedan. This system supports integration in civil registration, thus his side will assist parents of newborn babies in hospital to take care of their babies' birth certificates and KIAs.

"We also open services in several locations such as RPTRAs, PAUDs (education for early age children), kindergartens, and elementary schools for any residents who want to apply KIA for their children," he conveyed.
