East Jakarta Transportation Sub-dept. (Sudinhub) applies traffic engineering on Jalan Raden Inten intersection and Jalan Inspeksi Kalimalang, Duren Sawit, Wednesday (12/5). Evaluation will be conducted after three months trial.

This traffic engineering is done to prevent traffic accident

East Jakarta Sudinhub's Traffic Section Head, Andreas Eman mentioned, in this traffic engineering his side will activate full traffic light because previously only traffic warning light was installed on that intersection.

Previously, vehicles from Jakarta to Bekasi should turn left first to go to Jalan Raden Inten, but after installing this full traffic light, vehicles can go straight according to traffic light instruction.

Meanwhile, there is no regulatory change in opposite direction. Vehicles can go straight but still need to be careful. Vehicles from Bekasi that want to go to Jalan Raden Inten or turn right, should follow traffic light instruction. This also applies to vehicles that want to go to Halim Perdana Kusuma or turn right from Jalan Raden Inten by following traffic light instruction.

"This traffic engineering is done to prevent traffic accident. Because the former traffic light was off, so traffic became chaotic because vehicles passed from various directions. Th is is very dangerous and can cause traffic accident," he explained.
