70 Cubic Meters of Garbage Collected From Pramuka Island

There were 70 cubic meters of garbage transported using garbage boat KM Laut Bersih 32 from temporary waste disposal site in the eastern side of Pramuka Island, Panggang Island Urban Village, North Thousand Islands Sub-district.

"Some waste are collected from the stream and the others from household," said Yusen Hardiman, Thousand Islands Environment Sub-department Head, Wednesday (1/16).

14 boat crews and coastal cleaners with assistance from local PPSU personnel moved the waste to the ship and transported it.

N. Jakarta Holds Waste Collecting in Penjaringan

"We collect and transport waste from several inhabitant islands from early January 2019," he added.

The helmsman, Syafei Munandar stated, his boat went around Panggang Island Urban Village to collect waste. Starting from Pramuka Island, Karya Island, and then Panggang Island. His side collected about 150 cubic meters of garbage from those islands.

"Then from Panggang Island, we pick up some garbage on the sea. We usually transport all the waste to Muara Angke," he conveyed.
