Basuki: Bad Performance, I Will Demote You!

Jakarta Vice Governor, Basuki 'Ahok' T Purnama promised to keep combating unruly officials serving in Jakarta Provincial Government, in order to create clean, transparent government, and serve public professionally. 

Definitely, we will demote officials, if they cannot work well

Basuki's effort is expected to be a lesson for other officials, thus they are no longer misusing a budget for personal or group interests only. "Definitely, we will demote officials, if they cannot work well," he asserted, at City Hall, Monday (8/18).

As known, following the demotion against employees of Jakarta Housing and Government Buildings Sub-Department, Basuki back to demote his men. It was done ahead of the 69th Independence Day.

Receiving Illegal Levies Case, Basuki Disappointed

"We demoted two echelon-III officials serving in Public Bureau Division," he told.

According to the man who popularly called as Ahok, both officials were proven guilty over case of budget misuse. They are not mutated, but demoted to staff.

Nevertheless, he did not explain such matters in detail. He states would more aggressively combat the corruption in Jakarta government. Moreover he and the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) had held a sudden inspection at the Motor Vehicle Testion (PKB) Kedaung Angke, West Jakarta, and found numerous acts of illegal levies there.
