Vice Jakarta Governor Basuki T Purnama asks all officials and civil servants in the environment of Jakarta Provincial Government to always work hard in serving the people and not enrich themselves. This is because being official means sincere in serving the people to help, not to be rich.

If you think being civil servants were rich, you are wrong. If you wanted to be rich, just be professionals or entrepreneurs. But if you wanted to help people, be officials

“If you think being civil servants were rich, you are wrong. If you wanted to be rich, just be professionals or entrepreneurs. But if you wanted to help people, be officials,” he stated, Wednesday (8/13).

In this unit, which civil servants serving the people and which not will be seen. If they assessed cannot serve the people, he will not hesitate to dismiss them.

City to Overhaul Echelon-II and IV Officials

“We just recruited more than 1,000 civil servants, aside teachers and nurses, to be dispatched in PTSP. Our way testing them is by watching. If they did not like serving the people, it means they are not civil servants. We’ll rule them out,” he uttered.

Moreover, Basuki disclosed that the salary of civil servants now has been increased. Thus, it is expected there would be no more corruption act. As for officials in certain echelons who still not working well, they will be demoted into regular staffs.

“The salary for staff in Jakarta based on Regional Performance Allowance (TKD) could reach Rp 6 million. So, if they still stealing, that is greedy. We’ll demote those who are not working well and fire those who steal,” he asserted.
