Organic Vegetable Harvests at Sirih Kebon RPTRA Enthused by Locals

Urban farming groups in Central Jakarta have proven that local residents can produce their own vegetables at the Kebon Sirih child-friendly integrated public space (RPTRA), Jalan Srikaya II, Kebon Sirih, Menteng, Central Jakarta.

Kebon Sirih RPTRA Caretaker, Sumiyati expressed that water spinach and chili at the location are organic plants which are planted using soil and natural fertilizers.

"This is the second time we harvest. Last January, we harvested spinach and pakcoy. Today we harvest water spinach," he expressed, Kebon Sirih RPTRA, Monday (4/1).

The crop yields will then be sold to park visitors.

At the same place, Ciprin (30), one of park visitors assessed that it is very positive activities. "Moreover vegetables here are organic and healthy to consume, hope it can be a routine activity," he told.

Similar statement also comes out from another visitor, Nur (40), whereby it is her first time she bought vegetables in the park.

"I bought three bundles. This is good for helping people here so they don't bother to go to the market," she exclaimed.
