Disparbud Arranges Pedestrian Path for Kota Tua Tourist Destinations Visitors

Jakarta Tourism and Culture Department (Disparbud) arranges pedestrian access way to Kota Tua tourist destination, West Jakarta.

Starting Monday (4/22) until two weeks ahead, we will try new pedestrian path to support integration between Kali Besar and Fatahillah Square

"Starting Monday (4/22) until two weeks ahead, we will try new pedestrian path to support integration between Kali Besar and Fatahillah Square. Our purpose is to facilitate visitors who reach Fatahillah Square by walking," mentioned Disparbud Head, Edy Junaedi, Tuesday (4/23).

Visitors who want to reach Fatahillah Square can enter from Lorong Pecinan, an entrance way located near Jalan Pintu Besar or Bank Indonesia Museum; Lorong Batavia, which is located near Jasindo Building or parking space on Jalan Cengkeh; or Lorong Pekojan, which is provided for visitors who came from Kalibesar Timur.

In order to exit Fatahillah Square, visitors can go through Lorong Fatahillah that leads to Jakarta Kota Station or Jalan Lada; Lorong Jayakarta that leads to Kalibesar/ Bank Mega; Lorong Kota Intan that leads to Aroma Nusantara/Kota Intan Bridge; or Lorong Sunda Kelapa that leads to Jalan Kunir or near Immigration Office Class I for West Jakarta Region.

"Lorong Pekojan is an entrance gate to integrate Kali Besar and Kota Tua," he added.

He mentioned, Kali Besar Zone 1 has a potential to be a popular tourist destination in Jakarta after being revitalized. Thus through this arrangement, his side wants to facilitate people from Fatahillah Square who want to visit Kali Besar.

"Formerly, we only focus on Fatahillah Square or Jakarta History Museum as tourist destination in Kota Tua. But now we want to introduce people about our new tourist destination, Kali Besar," he conveyed.

Actually, Kota Tua area includes Tamansari, Pinangsia, Glodok, Tambora and Penjaringan. Those areas have its own tourist attractions. Regarding historical tourist destinations, Kota Tua has Jakarta History Museum, Wayang Museum, Bank Indonesia Bank, Fine Art and Ceramic Museum, and Toko Merah. Along 2018, Disparbud noted, number of those museums visitors reached 1,376,122 people.
