Damaged Parks in C. Jakarta Repaired

Jakarta Parks and Cemetery Department is immediately repairing the parks around BI Roundabout and Arjung Wiwaha Statue (also known as horse statue) which have been damaged after being trampled by Prabowo-Hatta's supporters during the Constitutional Court’s ruling in the presidential election result dispute on Thursday (8/21).

The park does not permanent, but decorative to support the celebration of Indonesia's 69th Independence Day

As quoted by beritajakarta.com, since 7 AM, around 50 officers and 10 trucks have been sent to the locations. Parks and flower pots then put in the sacks and transported by trucks.

Parks Damaged, City Suffers Loss Hundreds of Millions Rupiah

Head of City Beauty Section for Jakarta Parks and Cemetery Department, Nur Aidani Lievayanti disclosed that damaged park in BI Roundabout is not permanent, but only as plant decoration. "The park does not permanent, but decorative to support the celebration of Indonesia's 69th Independence Day," she stated, Friday (8/22).

She explained due to the park is decorative, the plant has a running time period. Considering, its type is dominated by variety of flowering plants. "They are Kastubal, Palm Heli Konia, and Begonia," she expressed.

 

She furthered such plants have been planted since August 10 and are planned to be transported from location on Saturday (8/23). Unluckily, they have damaged by protesters. "We plan to transport those plants on Saturday, but the thus everything will be clean. But they have damaged," she uttered.

Due to this incident, Lievayanti urges people to maintain parks well along street and pedestrian. Considering the planting process takes a long time and routine maintenance. "If the park is damaged, it will be detrimental," she finished.
