1,963 Newcomers Netted in Binduk Operation

Jakarta Population and Civil Registration Department held the Population Operation (Binduk) in Klender Urban Village, Duren Sawit, East Jakarta, Saturday (8/23). From the operation, officers found 1,963 newcomers have no Temporary Domicile Certificate (SKDS).

Head of Duren Sawit Urban Village, Abu Bakar explained many newcomers in his region have not been recorded. "Until this noon, 497 SKDSs are completed. In Klender Urban Village, there are 18 RWs. Due to the validity period of certificate is only one year, people to immediately process the ID card in nearest urban village office," he stated.
371 Newcomers in Palmerah Netted During Binduk OperationAt the same location, Head of Jakarta Population and Civil Registration Department, Purban Hutepea mentions those netted newcomers have yet to report themselves to the RW. Whereas, they have lived in the capital for 14 days.
According to him, such newcomers cannot process the SKDS due to they do not have the domicile document. Hence, his side would provide the SKDS as long as they have Jakarta ID card and family card, a place to stay in Jakarta that is evidenced by the ID card and family card as well as letter from RT/RW in accordance with domicile.
"Ideally, there must be letter from the government in their origin place. But it doesn't need as long as they can meet our requirement," he expressed.
He added that post-Eid ul Fitr this year, the number of newcomers in Jakarta is at least 68,000 people. Its number has increased 28 percent compared to 52,000 people last year.
