In the near future, the East Jakarta Population and Civil Registration Sub-Department will conduct collection data on newcomers in East Jakarta. The collection data will be done through Population Development Operation (Binduk), which falls on August 23.
Last year, we secured newcomers without having Jakarta ID card and they should pay fine of Rp 20 thousand. Unluckily, it did not give deterrent effect
The Binduk operation will be targeting densely populated areas, such as rented house, and will be done regularly. In other words, the officer would re-visit the permanent, rented or boarding houses as data collection.
Head of East Jakarta Population and Civil Registration Sub-Department, Abdul Haris asked the newcomers should always obey population rules in Jakarta. If not, the offender will be fined as set out in the Bylaw No. 8/2007 on Public Order, which is fine for Rp 100 thousand-Rp 20 million and imprisonment penalties for 10-60 days.
Newcomers Live on Riverbanks Will Be Controlled"Last year, we secured newcomers without having Jakarta ID card and they should pay fine of Rp 20 thousand. Unluckily, it did not give deterrent effect," he expressed, Saturday (8/9).
Haris urges newcomers must have a temporary domicile certificate (SKDS) if they want to stay in Jakarta. The letter is only to explain their addresses in Jakarta. 'If there is anything, the letter could be more helpful. But it cannot be used to open bank accounts and other facilities," he told.
He furthered the SKDS cannot also be used to get other rights such as Jakarta Health Card (KJS) or Jakarta Smart Card (KJP). "As planned, the Binduk operation will be done on August 23 and centered at RW 10, Klender, Duren Sawit Sub-District," he said.
As known, the number of population in Jakarta is reaching 12.7 million people in afternoon and 9.9 million people at night.
