Coastal Tourism Popularity Will Compete Puncak

North Jakarta Administration will utilize the 12 coastal tourism destinations in order to boost tourist arrivals. With professional management, the coastal tourism could be equivalent to Puncak, West Java.

Thus, Indonesian people especially Jakartans will no longer call Puncak but North Jakarta

North Jakarta Mayor, Heru Budi Hartono disclosed through Coastal Festival which has been ongoing since Saturday (8/22) until Sunday (8/23), is an effort to develop the existing coastal tourism in North Jakarta by creating an image that North Jakarta which is a recreational site that is worth visiting in Indonesia.

"Thus, Indonesian people will no longer call Puncak but North Jakarta," he asserted, Saturday (8/23).

Ancol will Become International Recreational Site

He added the Coastal Festival which is a routine agenda since 2009 is a forum of promoting recreational sites in North Jakarta, particularly the 12 coastal tourist destinations. According to him, the existing facility and infrastructure must still be developed to attract more tourists.

"We'll do development gradually, especially in its facility and infrastructure," he explained.

Head of North Jakarta Tourism Sub-Department, Grace Mandagi disclosed cooperation with stakeholder in developing the coastal tourism is important. Various events would also be held with travel agent to introduce such recreational site.

"Through such cooperation, we will get support and assistance, as well as many results which will be gained," he uttered.
