Jakarta Vice Governor, Basuki 'Ahok' T Purnama stated that such change in Ancol's status must be coupled with beach reclamation, which was planned to be carried out about 16 hectares wide by PT Pembangunan Jaya Ancol.

PT Pembangunan Jaya Ancol Director, Gatot Satyo Waluyo revealed that his side would change Ancol's status from national becomes international level. "We'll build a theme park on the reclamation land in a bid to promote Ancol," he uttered.
He is also going to cooperate with foreign operators to position Ancol as an International Destination Ancol Theme Park. In 2018, its operational is targeted to operate. "The reclamation would be realized this year and is hoped can operate in 2015. Thus, the construction could be started in early 2016 and take 1.5-2 years," he expressed.
He admitted, fund for ANcol development is Rp 6 trillion as initial phase and there will be reclamation development for hotel and other facilities construction.
According to Waluyo, theme park segmentation on reclaimed land is different with Dunia Fantasi (Dufan). Even the rides would be made different. "We may build many theme parks at sea due to the land located on reclaimed land. Then for the naming, we will use Dufan Ocean," he explained.
