Illegal Parking in W. Jakarta Still Rampant

Although the officers have repeatedly conducted raid, yet the existence of illegal parking in West Jakarta is still rampant. Evidently, it can easily be found under JORR W1 Toll Road and Jalan Kamal Raya  near Seribu Ruko area, Cengkareng.

Supposedly, personnel are sent here to avoid illegal parking

Such areas are usually used as parking lot for goods trucks and its condition is also worsened with public transports stop haphazardly to pick up the passenger. As a result, traffic congestion cannot be avoided.

"Lastly, officers had controlled trucks parked haphazardly in Seribu Ruko area. But, they returned again and cause congestion," said Suryaman, (50), a citizen of RT 04/06, Cengkareng Barat, Saturday (8/23).

Therefore, citizen of Jalan Flamboyan, Menceng who often passes the road asked related unit to immediately hold raid against illegal parking and deploy personnel at the site as a precaution. "Supposedly, personnel are sent here to avoid illegal parking," he asserted.

Similar condition is also spotted on Jalan Jembatan Lima, Tambora and under JORR W1 Toll Road, Cengkareng.

Head of Supervision and Control Section for West Jakarta Transportation Sub-Department, Imam Slamet disclosed that his sub-department has repeatedly held raid against illegal parking in Seribu Ruko area and Jalan Jembatan Lima. "Unfortunately, it cannot give deterrent effect," he admitted.

He added, to deploy personnel in illegal parking-prone areas, it cannot be done due to lack of personnel. "That's why we just do raid in the field as temporary precaution," he finished.
