Illegal Parking, 71 Vehicles in West Jakarta Ticketed

The ranks of West Jakarta Transportation Sub-Department holds raid against illegal parking in several locations in the municipality, Tuesday (8/5). As a result, they managed to ticket 71 vehicles.

We ticketed a total of 71 vehicles. They consist of 21 public transports, which we directly made dossier in location, as well as 20 private cars and 30 motorcycles

Head of Control and Supervision Section for West Jakarta Transportation Sub-Department, Imam Slamet, said that as many as 50 joint personnel from the national army, garrison, Satpol PP, and Transportation Sub-Department are deployed in the raid which targeting illegal parking on Jalan Gajah Mada until Beos Station and vice versa.

“We ticketed a total of 71 vehicles. They consist of 21 public transports, which we directly made dossier in location, as well as 20 private cars and 30 motorcycles,” he stated.

According to Slamet, strict action is conducted because those vehicles parked illegally and caused traffic congestion. Due to many public transports getting dossier, he suggested for the north gate of Beos Station to only be used as entrance, while the exit us directed to underground bridge. Thus, public transports would only pick up and drop off passengers on the south lane.

“The dense traffic around Beos Station is caused by public transports parking haphazardly to pick up passengers half an hour before train passengers arrived at the station. If all gates were merged at the south, we can monitor and control those public transports considering the south lane is wider,” he uttered.
