Non-Permanent Residents Get Temporary Domicile Certificates

Jakarta Population and Civil Registration (Dukcapil) Department to provide Temporary Domicile Certificates (SKDS) for non-permanent residents.

SKDS' validity period is only 1 year

Jakarta Dukcapil Department Head, Dhany Sukma explained, non-permanent residents are newcomers who plan to stay in Jakarta temporarily, while permanent residents are those who want to stay in Jakarta for long term.

"Non-permanent residents should have regional identity card and covering letter from RT/RW," he added, Tuesday (6/11). 

Newcomers Expected to Obey Population Administration Regulation

His side plans to coordinate with local RT/RW administrators and Dasawisma groups to register non-permanent residents on June 14-25, 2019 thus population administration can run optimally. Next, his side will conduct Population Operation (Binduk) on June 26-July 3, 2019.

In the other hand, Jakarta Dukcapil Department's Population Division Head, Sapto Wibowo reminds non-permanent residents to get SKDS by filling population registration form.

"In order to get SKDS, they should inform their Identity Card Number (NIK), hometown, the purpose of coming to Jakarta and other information needed to fill the registration form. SKDS' validity period is only 1 year," he informed.
