1.5 Million Foreign Tourists Targeted to Visit Museum

The Jakarta Tourism and Culture Agency Head, Edy Junaedi revealed that 1.5 million foreign tourists are targeted to visit museums in Jakarta. 

The total target of foreign tourist visits this year is 2.9 million people

"The total target of foreign tourist visits this year is 2.9 million people," he stated, Thursday (6/20). 

He explained that the interest of foreign tourists visiting museums is very high, especially from Europe.

"The museum has its own charm, especially for foreign tourists," he stated.

According to him, the collections on display at the museum have various kinds of stories and are treasures that need to be known. 

Apart from the aspect of the building, the museum's collection and exhibitions is also important as a tourist attraction.

"I want the museums in Jakarta to be able to intensify events or exhibitions," he told. 

He added that Jakarta is often called the melting pot of all cultures in Indonesia. That is why Jakarta should be a window for the appearance of Indonesia's cultural wealth.

"This is just a matter of recreation, but there are many educational values and knowledge that can be obtained here," he stated.
