Administration service for Children Identity Card (KIA) and birth certificate will be opened in all public elementary schools in Central Jakarta.

Central Jakarta Population and Civil Registration (Dukcapil) Sub-department Head, Remon Mastadian mentioned, his side will collaborate with Central Jakarta Education Sub-department Region 1 and 2 (JP 1 and JP 2) to hold this door-to-door administration service.

He informed, there are 343,325 children at age 0-8 in Central Jakarta. 282,733 of them or 82.35 percent of total children at that age have owned birth certificates and 84,034 children or 24.47 percent have owned KIAs. While there are 21,402 elementary students in JP 1 and 46,948 elementary students in JP 2.
"By providing administration service in elementary schools, hopefully we can reach children who don't have KIA and birth certificate yet. We will help them for KIA and birth certificate administration process," he said.
In order to issue KIA, applicants bring photocopies of their children's birth certificate, family card (KK) and two pieces of 2x3 cm color passport photo. While others who want to issue birth certificate should bring birth report from doctor or midwife, photocopies of KK and marriage certificate.
"We have socialized this service in sub-districts and schools. Hopefully many people can use this service well," he added.
