Third MRT Construction Phase Expected to Begin in 2020

PT MRT Jakarta President Director, William Sabandar revealed, the third MRT (Kalideres-Ujung Menteng) as far as 31.7 km is expected to begin in 2020. 

At least 22 stations will pass such routes

It will be divided into two phases. The first phase is from Kalideres to Cempaka Baru as far as 20.1 km and second phase from Cempaka Baru to Ujung Menteng as far as 11.6 km.

Number of MRT Passenger Continues to Increase

"At least 22 stations will pass such routes," he expressed, Friday (7/26).

According to him, Kalideres to Ujung Menteng route project is part of the East-West project that connects Cikarang to Balaraja as far as 87 km. As for the Kalideres to ujung Menteng is part of East to West inner Jakarta.

"Beforehand, the inner phase of Jakarta will be made first. While for Cikarang to Balaraja route, we will start to Kali Deres to Ujung Menteng route," he explained.

The track model will adopt two tracks in the phase I namely elevated and underground. From Kalideres to Grogol will be made elevated track.

"After that the track will enter the ground from Roxy Station to Cempaka Baru. Similar action will also be done on the rest from Sumur Batu Station to Ujung Menteng," he stated.
