The Jakarta Community Alliance (Amarta) is supporting Jakarta Governor Anies Baswedan who has issued Governor Instruction Number 66/2019 on Air Quality Control.

"There must be restrictions on the use of private vehicles with a maximum age of 10 years which began in 2025 and 2020 for public transport, as well as encourage people to use public transport," he explained.
He furthered that related regional working unit (SKPD) must also be more assertive to industry actors in Jakarta to monitor industrial smoke exhaust and install air quality control in industrial chimneys.
"If it is needed, we will involve the community in its monitoring, including Early Awareness Society Forum (FKDM) personnel," he told.
Similar opinion with Rico, Executive Director, Mohammad Syaiful Jihad, Jakarta Public Service (JPS) added that socialization becomes an important instrument, not only related to the seven points in the instruction but the benefits that can be felt by the community.
"This is very important thus they can be better understand and have awareness towards themselves, other people and the city," he told.
With this instruction, it needs participatory collaborative concepts to realize greening the environment and the use of eco-friendly renewable energy sources.
"I believe it needs to be started soon and conducted good monitoring to get optimum
results," he said.
