Anies Prepares SOP for Emergency Measures During Massive Blackout

Jakarta Governor Anies Baswedan is going to draft the Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) for Emergency Measures in order to face massive blackout in Jakarta. It was stated after a meeting with Greater Jakarta PLN General Manager M. Ikhsan Asaad at Jakarta City Hall on Wednesday (8/7).

This makes us aware of the importance of having SOP action in emergency conditions without electricity

"This makes us aware of the importance of having SOP action in emergency conditions without electricity. And now we have it to face emergency conditions, especially blackout," he expressed as quoted by Jakarta PPID press release.

He also explained the plan to meet electricity consumption in Jakarta through solar power through strategic steps to intensify the use of solar panels in government buildings and schools.

Ancol Prepares 23 Generators for Facing Rolling Blackout

"We want more generators in Jakarta. The solar system is one of the most likely sources in cities like Jakarta but it must be drafted first and become a joint discussion with the Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources last Friday. Indeed it is already prepared, translated first in the form of a framework and then will be discussed," he explained.

Greater Jakarta PLN General Manager M. Ikhsan Asaad appreciates it as a constructive response to the blackout that hit Greater Jakarta, West Java and parts of Central Java. Besides ensuring the entire system is operating and functioning normally, PLN will support the utilization of Solar Power Plants, which are planned to run massive in Jakarta.

"Right now, there are at least 400 customers using rooftop solar panels which can still operate, even though the electricity goes out. So we hope they can sell electricity to us, surely we need it as emergency conditions," he asserted.
