North Jakarta Intensifies Inter Sector Coordination to Improve Maternal and Infant Health

North Jakarta plans to reduce maternal and infant mortality by holding inter sector coordination to improve Antenatal Care (ANC) quality.

North Jakarta Assistant for Administration and Community Welfare, Wawan Budi Rohman stated, there are 80 participants gathered at mayor office. They represent Dukcapil Sub-department, Social Sub-department, sub-district, Indonesia Medical Association (IDI), Indonesian Midwives Association, and North Jakarta PKK cadres.

"Our job is to ensure all residents are healthy and always remind them to check their health routinely. I hope all sides can do their roles optimally," he said, Wednesday (8/14).

North Jakarta Health Sub-department Head, Yudi Dimyati explained, his side has worked optimally to prevent anemia by holding health screening from teenager, pre-marital, and pre-pregnancy until pregnancy period.

"Health screening is important to prevent maternal and infant mortality, but we can't just check only from health aspect. All sides need to be involved in order to improve maternal and infant health," he explained.
