Jakarta Provincial Government’s request for additional 1,000 civil servant candidate (CPNS) formations to Administrative Reforms Ministry is finally granted. Previously, city government only got 133 new civil servants.

“I’m thankful the request is granted. The struggle for it was quite fantastic,” said Head of Jakarta Personnel Board, I Made Karmayoga, Tuesday (9/2).

The formations consist of 10 health sector formations, 81 administration formations, 320 economy sector formations, 350 education sector formations, and 372 technical sector formations. These formations will be announced soon to the public on www.panselnas.menpan.go.id.

Jakarta CPNS recruitment this year emphasized on technical and education sectors. This is in accordance to the directions from Jakarta Governor Joko Widodo and Vice Governor Basuki T Purnama to minimize flooding, realize zero-hole on city streets, and improve the quality of teachers.

“All of it is in accordance to the vision and mission of governor and vice governor to realize the New Jakarta,” told Karmayoga.

Earlier, Jakarta Vice Governor Basuki T Purnama informed that at least 4,000 civil servants will be retired this year. To fill in the empty positions, Jakarta Provincial Government will accept new civil servants, but not more than that.

“4,000 civil servants will be retired this year. So, we’ll not accept CPNS more than that number,” he stated.
