249 Plant Seeds to Be Planted in All Schools in Thousand Islands

Realizing #200taman2jutatanaman movement, Thousand Island Education Sub-department intensifies planting more plants in schools as instructed by Jakarta Education Department for controlling air quality in Jakarta.

All schools in Thousand Islands will be planted with 249 seeds from different types of plants

Thousand Islands Education Sub-department Head, Ade Yulia Narun said, her side has been planting trees and plants that can absorb high level of pollutants in schools since Monday (8/19).

East Jakarta Targets to Plant One Million Sansevieria

Those plants are heart-leaved moonseed, rose apple, cempedak avocado, bay leaf tree, sawo kecik (Manilkara kauki), madeira-vein, willow-leaved justicia (Justicia gendarusa), white guava, ginger, citrofortunella, star fruit, pecah beling (Strobilanthes crispa), galangal, lemongrass, betel, and mother-in-law's tongue (Sansevieria).

"All schools in Thousand Islands will be planted with 249 seeds from different types of plants. After planting it, I hope schools can take care of those plants," she asserted, Tuesday (8/20).

Meanwhile, Bakri Akas, Headmaster of SMK Negeri 61 Jakarta, Tidung Island, South Thousand Islands said, his side has received 100 mother-in-law's tongue plants and 100 golden pothos.

"We also provide 100 breadfruit trees to be planted in Tidung Island," he stated.
