MRT Jakarta to Equip Several Stations with Book Corner

We want to encourage them (passengers) to read during the trip

The MRT Jakarta is ready to cooperate with Indonesian Publisher Association and Chapter in order to have book corners in several MRT stations. 

Eventually, passengers who want to take the MRT can borrow books in the book corner to read during the trip. Then, when dropped off at the station, they must return the books to the available bookshelves.

"We want to encourage them (passengers) to read during the trip," disclosed PT MRT Jakarta President Director, William P Sabandar, Thursday (9/5).

His party will also launch the Read Books movement at the Jakarta MRT in the commemoration of International Literacy Day on Sunday (9/8).

"We intend to call on the community to donate their books in booths that we prepared," he told.

PT MRT Jakarta Finance and Administration Director, Tuhiyat added the book corner will be exist in HI Roundabout, Dukuh Atas, Blok M, Fatmawati and Lebakbulus stations.

"We cannot realize it in all stations due to limited space, so we will coordinate with Library and Archives Agency to make digitizing books," he closed.
