Heads of Bina Marga and Transportation Escort Anies to Monitor Several Areas While Cycling

Jakarta Bina Marga Department Head, Hari Nugroho and Transport Department (Dishub) Head, Syafrin Liputo escorted Jakarta Governor, Anies Baswedan who was cycling from his house in Lebak Bulus to City Hall, Thursday (9/5).

It helps us to see the detail problems on the field and give solution optimally

Hari stated, they passed Jalan Fatmawati Raya, Blok M, Jalan Jenderal Sudirman, Jalan MH. Thamrin, Jalan Medan Merdeka Selatan to reach City Hall.

Through cycling, he mentioned, his side are able to know the problems directly while passing the road.

"It helps us to see the detail problems on the field and give solution optimally," he expressed.

During the trip, his side stopped at several locations while Anies gave inputs regarding sidewalk arrangement, road repairing, Fatmawati Skybridge construction, and lane consistency.

"Lane consistency means number of road lanes in left and right sides should be equalized. If four lanes are provided in one side, then the other side should be provided four lanes," he stated.

Moreover, through this activity his side can ensure bike lane's safety and comfort.

"In order to optimize bike lanes, we need citizens participation by reporting problems or giving us feedbacks in Jakarta Government's official social media," he added.  

Meanwhile, Jakarta Transportation Department Head, Syafrin Liputo informed, Anies also interacted directly with the communities during the trip.

"He (Anies) suggests us to ride bike often because it is healthy," he mentioned.
